The content of the submitted idea must not contradict the provisions and principles of Islamic Sharia and public morals.
The participation must not violate any rights, regulations, or international or local laws, nor encourage in any way the violation of such rights, regulations, or laws.
The participant must declare that there is no contractual relationship or legal obligation that prevents the Ministry of Energy from using the participation or its content, whether in whole or in part.
These terms and conditions are subject to the laws applied in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the courts in Riyadh shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or related to participation in the hackathon.
The Ministry of Energy bears no responsibility for any material or moral damages incurred by the participant as a result of participating in the hackathon.
The Ministry of Energy bears no responsibility if incorrect or inaccurate information is submitted on the website, and the participant must ensure correct and proper submission of materials at all times.
The participant acknowledges that all information, designs, works, and documents they upload do not violate any intellectual property rights, and the participant bears full responsibility for any criminal, civil, or administrative consequences arising from such violation.
The participant must have full authority to agree to the terms and conditions, and that their participation is not subject to any third-party rights. The participant alone bears responsibility for any breach of this clause.
The Ministry of Energy is not responsible for any legal actions related to the participant's violation of any rights, including confidentiality obligations, before official entities or others.
The Ministry of Energy reserves the right not to share the judging results of the final submissions.
Your registration in the Energy Hackathon is considered an approval to share the idea with the Ministry or its authorized representatives and to enter the evaluation process.
In case of any dispute regarding the intellectual property of the participation or any other dispute, the participant acknowledges that the Ministry is not responsible, and the Ministry or its authorized representatives have the right to disqualify the violating participant.
The participant acknowledges that the submitted participation is not subject to any intellectual property rights or restrictions that prevent the Ministry from using, republishing, or modifying it as deemed appropriate.
All rights related to the hackathon (including the competition name, content, designs, logos, and associated branding) are the exclusive property of the Ministry.
The Ministry does not take responsibility for any intellectual property rights claimed by the participant, nor for publishing the participation on the competition page, which may constitute a violation of registered intellectual property rights.
The participant has the right to withdraw from the Energy Hackathon at any stage before the announcement of winners' names, provided that an email is sent to the Energy Hackathon Management Team at the following address: @
The Ministry and the Energy Hackathon Management Team are not responsible for any disputes that may occur between members of the participant's team.
In the event of winning a prize, the prize will be delivered to the team leader who registered through the electronic platform.
The Ministry or any authorized party may publish the competition entries through any media channel. The participant also agrees that the Ministry may use their participation in promotional, advertising, and marketing activities.
The participant (team leader) is required to attend all days of the hackathon and complete all required phases. No one may substitute for them in any stage of the hackathon unless an official approval is granted by the Ministry.
It is not permitted to participate with the same work, or to copy it, duplicate it, or reproduce it from one participant to another. If such a case occurs, the participation will be canceled.
If two similar submissions are received from two different entities or individuals, the one submitted first will be considered, unless the other party provides official evidence proving ownership of the participation.
The participant agrees to the Ministry conducting promotional photography, documenting the hackathon, and publishing the participation and the names of winners in all available media outlets.
By using the hackathon website, the participant acknowledges the Ministry's right to retain and use their data submitted through the participation form or sent via email.
The participant is fully committed to honesty and integrity in all stages of the hackathon.
By using the hackathon website, the participant acknowledges the Ministry's right to request any supporting documents and to share them with its advisors or any entity the Ministry deems appropriate.
If it is found that any of the winners has violated any of the terms or submitted incorrect information, the Ministry has the right to take appropriate action, including revoking the award and holding them accountable under applicable criminal, civil, and administrative laws.
Participation in the hackathon does not in any way grant any additional advantage in services or dealings with the Ministry—whether positively or negatively—now or in the future.
At any stage of the hackathon, the Ministry reserves the right to disqualify any participant without providing justification, whether due to breaching the terms, ensuring the integrity of the hackathon, or for any other reason the Ministry deems valid.
The Ministry reserves the right to cancel or modify the prizes without prior notice, and the participant has no right to object.
The Ministry reserves the right to change the terms and conditions from time to time. Participants must stay informed of these terms and conditions, and the Ministry is not required to announce any changes made to them.
Participation in any project within the hackathon by the organizing entities or participating individuals represents the individual participant or their team only and does not represent the institution to which they belong.
By using the hackathon website, the participant acknowledges the Ministry's right to retain their data, use it, and make it available to third parties, specifically the sponsoring companies of the hackathon.
By participating in any challenge, you agree and acknowledge that the intellectual property rights of the idea belong to its owner, and that this does not grant any explicit or implicit rights or licenses to the Ministry.
Registering the idea in the Energy Hackathon does not constitute formal registration as intellectual property. The responsibility of registering the intellectual property remains with the idea owner (the applicant).
The Ministry has full authority to publish and distribute the submitted participation for media purposes, whether within or outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
